SPRING RECITALS 2026
1. AAMTA Solo Festival - Sat 16 May, Anne Arundel Community College Arnold
Organized by Anne Arundel Music Teachers Association, the Solo Festival features a number of recitals throughout the day. Students from various teachers across the county take part in this festival which is held at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold.
Students using Piano Adventures books are invited to take part. Each student will perform two contrasting pieces of music. At the end of the recital, they will receive a certificate and a written valuation of their performance from the judges. This is a wonderful opportunity for students, allowing them to gain feedback from music professionals beyond their regular instructors.
The specific recital times are announced the week prior to the event. Last year, there were 5 recitals between 10am and 3:30pm. Participants can't select a recital time, but you can specify if you prefer an earlier time or a later time.
If your child wishes to participate, please ensure they are signed up by May 1st.
2. PIANO ORCHESTRA RECITAL - 11am Sat 6 June, Nichols Bethel Church
We're doing something very different for our spring recital this year. Students will be performing together on several pianos as a Piano Orchestra. This is a big task that requires a lot of practice as it will be the first time that many students will experience playing different parts together, so we will start working on the music this week.
This recital is open to all in-person students including Beethoven Buddies students. All students will be learning the recital music, even if they choose not to take part in the recital as it's a great experience to play in a group. However, I do need to know which students will be at the recital so I can be sure all parts of the music are covered, so please sign up by May 1st if your child will be attending the recital.
3. WATER MUSIC FESTIVAL - Sat 25 July, Truxtun Park, Annapolis
Anne Arundel Music Teachers Association will host the annual Water Music Festival at Truxtun Park in Annapolis. This is a fun, informal recital near the Truxtun Park pool. Students will play music related to nature or water - such as snow, ice, mist, mountains, stars. Closing date for sign-up is July 10th.
