The Beethoven Buddies program for group classes is all about getting young kids (ages 6 through 11), into piano basics in a fun and hands-on way. With this program, students will:
  • Learn to read notes and rhythms
  • Learn the basics of music theory
  • Develop good playing habits
  • Improve listening and teamwork skills through playing duets
Not everyone learns at the same pace, so there are 3 different speeds to go through the program.

​Steady Steps
A gentle-paced program designed for children who benefit from more explanations, extra repetition and additional encouragement. Students will be assigned a new song every two weeks and will review completed songs weekly.

​Rising Stars
A standard-paced beginner program for students who are ready to progress through the curriculum at a regular pace. Students are expected to practice at home at least 4 days each week, as they will be assigned a new song almost every week.

​Trailblazers
Faster-paced lessons for children who quickly grasp new concepts, practice daily at home and enjoy an added challenge. The accelerated pace allows them to advance more quickly without skipping essential skills.

​Classes take place at Nichols Bethel Church in Odenton, MD. There are 5 pianos in the music room so each class can have a maximum of 5 students. Students will need to have a piano or keyboard at home as they will be assigned homework and are expected to practice their assignment daily at home.

    We may take photographs or short videos during lessons or recitals. These images and videos help us celebrate our students' progress and share the joy of music with our community. No personal information beyond your child's first name (if used at all) will be included with the videos/photos.
    NOTE:
    1. As our recitals are open to the public, we cannot ensure that your child will not be included on any videos/pictures taken by someone else.
    2. All Group Recital Performances are all recorded. Students who opt out of being recorded will not be able to take part in Group Recital Performances. They can, however, take part in Solo Recital Performances
