MauraMaura E. Hall has a BA in Music from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs NY. She has a self directed Masters in Music Education from the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY in 1993. She has played for such artists as Seymour Bernstein, Claude Frank, and Ruth Laredo.  Mrs. Hall studied under Edward Hausman, graduate of the Julliard School of Music and winner of the prestigious Frank Damrosh Prize and the G. Schirmer Award.   Hausman was a member of the internationally acclaimed First Piano Quartet, and played under the baton of Paul Paray and Arthur Fiedler. She also studied under Joe Fennimore, who graduated with honors from both the Eastman and Juilliard Schools. He  taught at Princeton and co-founded the Hear America First concert series in New York City devoted to American music, programs eventually broadcast on NPR. Fennimore taught at the College of St. Rose and still teaches privately.

In 1989 she began teaching music in Saratoga Springs.  In 1990 she began Etudes Music Studio, which now has a staff of 6 and 80 students.  In addition to a yearly recital in Filene Music Hall at Skidmore, Etudes students perform often in smaller local venues. Mrs. Hall has worked with children and teenagers for almost 30 years.

She has been a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) since 1990. In 1991 she received her National and State Certification through MTNA. She is currently the chair of New York State Music Teacher Association District 6, and at the state level is Vice President of Professional Acclivities and Independent Music Teacher Chair for New York State. Mrs. Hall is very active in the area, judging and adjudicating for various events and organizations in the area. She has made several presentations for MTNA workshops and state conferences. She contributes regularly to the NYSTMA newsletters in the independent teacher's column. and has been published in Keyboard Companion Magazine. Mrs.  Hall performs in local venues throughout the area. She works closely with St. Clements and Saratoga Central Catholic High School music departments, working with students choirs and other theatre productions.
